Chianti d.o.c.g. Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita "Poggio al Chiuso" Chianti is made of the area's typical grape varieties (Sangiovese and Canaiolo) and since it was first made in 1971, it has guaranteed authenticity and full respect of the local winemaking tradition.
Tasting The grapes are selected and picked by hand. Then the must undergoes maceration on skins in stainless steel tanks for at least 20 days. After separation from the must, the wine remains in 7-ton tanks to complete malolactic fermentation. The wine remains in tanks for a further two years and then ages in the bottle for about three months. Fresh and full-bodied, this wine is ruby red in colour, showing intense aroma and strength while young. The scent of fresh fruit mingles with the more complex aromas conveyed by maturity. Good acidity on the palate indicates a good structure and a typical Tuscan character. Aging potential: 3-5 years. |
